Stuart Wayne Ramsey, of Rocky Mount, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007.
Born May 4, 1923, he was preceded in death by his parents Stafford W. Ramsey and Mary N. Ramsey; and one sister Helen Armentrout.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years Mildred T. Ramsey; two children Donna R. Bowers and Joyce Ramsey-Goad; special sons-in-law are Ernest Goad and Les Bowers; his sister Mabel Naff; two grandchildren Les S. Bowers and Brad H. Bowers, whom he deeply loved. His special buddies were his dog Joey and grand dog, Dude.
Stuart Ramsey was one of the most kind and gentle of men, with a thoughtful and practical view of life. He was intelligent, introspective, and one of the hardest workers. Stuart was non-judgmental and supportive of others decisions. He was a faithful neighbor and friend to all, enemy to none. Stuart tried to see the good in everyone and had a positive impact on the lives he touched. He had a love of animals and the land he farmed all his life. During his lifetime, Stuart was a member of many professional organizations, including Ruritans, Woodmen of the World, and Farm Bureau. Stuart lived a frugal life in a home he helped build and lived in all his married life. He took a special job in maintaining his lawn and farm. He had a real warmth and sense of humor. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
Cryptside services will be held from the Franklin Memorial Park Mausoleum 2:30 p.m. Friday with Rev. Mark Deane officiating.
His family will be receiving friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
