Sue Houston Chitwood

Sue Houston Chitwood, age 82 of Glade Hill passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Sue is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Danny Chitwood; her son, Pee Wee Chitwood (Kim); her cherished grandchildren, Hannah and Tyler Chitwood; her sister, Sharon Jones; her brother, Larry Houston (Patsy); her brothers-in-law, Sammy Chitwood (Pauline); her sisters-in-law, Sandra Cruz and Naomi Bousman; and several nieces and nephews.

Sue dedicated more than 60 years of her life to working at Cooper Wood and Cooper Plastics. She was a faithful and devoted member of Pleasant Hill Church, where she held several positions throughout the years and was always willing to serve others with kindness and compassion.

Funeral services will be held at Pleasant Hill Church, 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026. Interment will follow in Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive beginning at 12:30 p.m. Saturday prior to the service. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
