Sue Fisher Johnson

C arolyn Sue Fisher Johnson “Suzi”, age 74 of Boones Mill passed away Monday, May 1, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carey Morgan Johnson III on August 28, 2022; father, Delmas Eugene Fisher, grandparents, Jube and Kate Holland Dillon, Ernest and Mary Fisher and step-son, James Eric Johnson. Surviving are her mother, Stella Dillon Fisher; step- daughter-in-law, Tammy Johnson, three step-grandchildren, Brandin Johnson (Ada), Caleb Johnson (Marlie Delby) and Ashton Johnson; step-great-grandchildren, Caiden, Myla, Camden and Liana Johnson; in-laws, Patrick Johnson (Jennifer), Pamela Roberts (Pete) and Ellsworth Johnson (Kay), many nieces, nephews, friends and church family; a special friend, India Riley Ellis. Also special thanks to her cousin, Bonnie Dillon Mitchell for the care she provided to Suzi and Stella during these difficult times. Suzi was a lifetime member of Boones Mill Church of the Brethren where she served as choir director for many years. She retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad with over 30 years of service. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2023 with Pastor Jerry Naff officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
