Susie E. Dent

Susie E. Dent, 92 of Rocky Mount passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry, Sr. and Susie Baldwin Elliott; husband, James Warren Dent; son, Roy Thomas Dent; granddaughter, Phyllis Dent; two brothers and one sister. Surviving are her children, Jimmy Dent and wife Betty, Gary Dent and wife Carolyn, Dougie Dent and wife Faye, Dale Dent, and Charlotte Dent Rigney; two grandchildren, Michael Dent and Tammy Dent Holland; three great-grandchildren, Cieanna Holland, Jacob Holland and Nichlous Dent; brother, Charles "Butt" Elliott; sisters, Virginia Elliott, Mary Muse and Jean Colley; special friends, Marsha Dent and Mary Thompson; and her puppy, Amy. Special thanks to the staff and caregivers of Franklin Health Care for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Free Clinic of Franklin County, Wirtz Assembly of God or Henry Fork Church of the Brethren. Funeral services will be conducted from Henry Fork Church of the Brethren 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Denver Turner and Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Henry Fork Church of the Brethren.
