Susie Ann Matheny

The Lord called Susie and she answered Friday, September 25, 2015. Her family was there to see her go home. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alton Beckner and James Matheny; parents, Tom and Lydia Sloan; daughters, Linda Carr and Diane Beckner; siblings, Ida Yopp, John, Harry and Will Sloan. Surviving are her daughter, Margaret Stump; son, Ernest Beckner (Faye); sister, Lula Buckner; sister-in-law, Nadine Sloan; grandchildren, Debbie Stump (Arthur), Jamie Carr and Billy Carr; great-grandchildren, Jamika Callaway, Janelle and Billy Jr.; great-granddaughter, Zieanae Callaway. The family wishes to extend extra special thanks to her family at Franklin County Hospice, Kitty, Helen, Karen and Rick; also her friends and neighbors who were also caregivers thru the years. Funeral services will be conducted at Callaway Church of God, 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2015 with Pastor Bill Pagen and Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in Callaway Community Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 5-7 pm Sunday at Callaway Church of God. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
