Sylvia Rabb Padgett

Sylvia Rabb Padgett, age 81 passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at her home in Rocky Mount. Sylvia was born Dec. 28, 1933 in Marianna, Florida and resided there until moving to Rocky Mount in 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha Dickson and Robert Young Rabb; and by her husband, Dr. Glenn E. Padgett, Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Paula Maree Hege, and son-in-law, Clint L. Hege, Jr., of Rocky Mount, formerly of Norlina. Sylvia attended Queens College, was a graduate of Florida State University, and a lifetime member of Chi Omega fraternity. Sylvia was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and served on the vestry. In Marianna, she served on numerous boards as president, both in civic and church organizations. Special thanks to Dr. Robert Strong and Joanna Asselin of Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, Rocky Mount. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
