Tambala “Tammy” Dale Barnes, age 57 of Callaway left this world peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2016 after her courageous fight against cancer. Awaiting her arrival in Heaven with arms wide open are her mama, Edith Zimmerman; and her Pops, Robert Fizer. Many close friends will be awaiting her arrival including, Carol Scruggs with a Harley ready so she can ride once again. She found true love in her soul mate, best friend, husband and caretaker, Tony Barnes. He showed true devotion and never left her side. She is also survived by her daughters, Brandie and Lloyd “Punkin” Mattox of Roanoke, Cristy Stamback and fiancé Tabi Dehart of Bassett; step-son, Anthony Barnes and fiancé Samantha Jones of Clifton Forge; step-daughter, Courtney and Michael Wright of Covington; sister, Regina and Merrell Hopson of Roanoke; brother, Shane and Lisa Bailey of New Castle; grandchildren, Alexsis, Caleb, Deonta, Novia, Brianna, Arian; nephews, Jimbob, Jason, Christopher, Lucas Hopson; nieces, Dakota and Jadan Hopson. She was surrounded by tons of friends who loved her and visited often. Special appreciation goes out to her brother-in-law, Phillip Barnes and family friends, Cornbread, Jason and Jen for their caretaking effort and the extra support that they gave. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Chapel. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
