Tammy Ann Mullins went to be with her Lord Jesus on October 11th, after a long and courageous fight with cancer. She was blessed to have a very close knit, and loving family that she drew an amazing amount of love and support from.
Tammy was a remarkable woman, full of love and energy. She was an ultrarunner, with many runs under her belt, from marathons to 100k (62.1 miles).
Tammy was a member of the Crooked Road Run Club, who were like a second family to her. During her fight with cancer, they were always there for her with love, support and encouragement. When Tammy wasn't running, she was in her garden. She loved her flowers, and even hybridized and registered several of her own Daylilies.
Tammy is survived by her husband of 30 years, Carl Mullins; their daughter, Cory Lynn Prillaman (Leon Prillaman); and son, Ethan Gabriel Mullins (Holly Jade Mullins); two grandsons, Cole Liam Prillaman and Chase Luke Prillaman; her father, Curtis Lee Young; and mother, Glenna June Young; three siblings, Lawrence Hodges (Clayton Leonard), Ricky Leonard Hodges (Deborah Ann Hodges), Cindy Jane Scott (Arnold "Hank" Scott); nephews, Tyler Hodges (Deanna Hodges), Travis Hodges (Kelsey Hodges), Dalton Thompson, Roy Scott (Allana), Frank Scott, Lane Scott; and niece, Jenna Thompson.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Chapel with Mr. Tommy Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow in the family cemetery. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
