Teresa Hale Spencer, age 58 of Henry died Monday, September 24, 2007.
She was a charter member of Twin Oaks Baptist Church where she served as Choir Director and Sunday School Teacher and for 30 years sang with the Mill Creek Trio. Teresa was an LPN in Franklin County, working with Wolfe Medical Group, Carilion Medical Center and Ferrum Community Health Center.
She was a devoted wife and mother and had been singing and smiling for the Lord her lifetime, now singing in the presence of Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her father Grant S. Hale.
Surviving are her husband of 40 years Sam Spencer; son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Shawn Spencer; daughter Tiffany Spencer; her granddaughter Bailey; her mother Lorene Thomas Hale; sister Brenda Hale Whitlow and husband Bobby; brother Barry S. Hale and wife Teresa; several beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Twin Oaks Baptist Church 2 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Terry Covey officiating. Interment will follow in the Thomas Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, her family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Twin Oaks Baptist Church Building Fund, 2313 Henry Road, Ferrum, Virginia 24088 or to the Adam Spencer Memorial Fund, c/o Christian Heritage Academy, 625 Glenwood Drive, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 – 9 p.m. at Twin Oaks Baptist Church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
