Thelma C. Amos, age 90 known affectionately as "Dutch" of Rocky Mount, VA went home to be with the Lord and the love of her life, Raymond on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 peacefully at her home. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Raymond Amos; parents, William Clinton and Ruby Adkins Campbell; a sister, Alice C. Lawrence; son, Donald R. (Buzz) Amos; and grandson, Scott Amos. She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Mark) Finney; son, Bill (Gwen) Amos; two half-sisters, Dale (Jimmy) Mitchell, Gale (Calbert) Potter; two step-brothers, Mike (Anita) Hundley and Ran (Rosalie) Hundley; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren to whom she was known lovingly as Granny. Also, many cousins and numerous friends. Dutch was a lifetime member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, a beautiful seamstress and a very loving person. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a love for life, her family and her many friends. She often said, "I cannot think of anyone I don't love". She was a wonderful mom and the best Granny. She wanted all children to call her “Granny” whether or not she was their actual granny. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
