Thelma Ramsey Cundiff, of Rocky Mount, born July 11, 1927 passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Thelma was very active in the community especially in the Franklin County Republican Women, ABWA, Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, United Methodist Women and Rocky Mount United Methodist Church. Thelma was Co-owner of Cundiff Lumber Inc. She was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Lillie Lacy Ramsey, brother Neville Ramsey and sister Hilda Davis. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, T. Ford Cundiff; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne & Valerie Cundiff of Roanoke, Brian and Joy Cundiff of Sydnorsville; daughters and son –in-law, Phyllis and Conrad Lavinder and Sarah Bowles of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Anthony Cundiff of Roanoke, Lorrie C. Watson of Farmville, Jonathan and Jason Lavinder of Rocky Mount, Daniel Bowles of Wash. D.C., Josh Bowles of Dillon, CO, Breanna Bowles of Rocky Mount and Wyatt Cundiff of Sydnorsville, brother T.C. Ramsey; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Flora Funeral Chapel with Dr. John A. Plummer officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at Flora Funeral Service and other times at the home of Sarah Bowles, 330 Willow Creek Road, Rocky Mount.
