Thelma Gray Morris

Thelma Gray Morris, age 87 of Rocky Mount passed away on Monday, February 14, 2011. She was born on December 16, 1923 the daughter of the late Isaac Gray and Susie Gray Scott. Mrs. Morris was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Brady L. Morris; as well as a sister, Beulah Erbaugh; a granddaughter, Bobbie Jo Hurley; and a great-granddaughter, Ainslee Gauldin. She is survived by her daughter, Frances Morris of Rocky Mount; her granddaughter, Susan Gauldin and husband Billy of Callaway; three great-granddaughters, Maleena Gauldin of Callaway, Autumn Hurley of Rocky Mount, and Magen Turner and husband Lea of Ringgold; a great-great-grandson, Noah Brady West; and two sisters, Jane Howell and husband Gorman of Salem, and Rebecca Ferguson of Charlottesville. Funeral services will be conducted from Gogginsville United Methodist Church 1 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Mark Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
