Thomas Benjamin “T.B.” Brooks, Jr. age 93 of Rocky Mount died peacefully on Thursday, October 11, 2007.
He was born July 22, 1914 a son of the late Thomas Benjamin Brooks, Sr. and Mary Lawless Brooks.
He was a life long member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. After working for Angle Silk Mill for 21 years, he ran a county store in the Wirtz area from 1961 until his retirement in 1999.
T.B. was preceded in death by his brother, Benjamin “B.W.” Brooks; and three sisters, Alda Wright, Ola Sink and Elizabeth Moore.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Marie Swanson Brooks, son, Buddy W. Brooks and wife Martha; special and loving sister, Gloria Dillon and husband Buford; sisters-in-law, Mabel Belcher, Juanita Weddle and husband Johnny, Miki Brooks; brothers-in-law, Clifford Swanson and wife Delphine and Larry Moore; grandchildren, Michelle Hagadorn and husband David, Jason Brooks; three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted from Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Mark Griffith officiating.
