Thomas Cabell Campbell, age 78 of Penhook passed away Friday, June 17, 2016. “Mr. Tommy” was affectionately known as the mayor of Truevine. He was born January 10, 1938, the son of the late Fletcher Wade Campbell and Ada Craig Campbell. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Judith Campbell. He attended Lynchburg College, was the owner of Campbell’s Grocery at Truevine and also drove a school bus for Franklin County Schools for several years. Surviving are his children, Thomas Cabell Campbell Jr. (Kimbal), Todd Craig Campbell, and Teree Cristi Campbell; grandchildren, Benjamin, Ariel and Alexa, also close friends Tyrone Witcher, James Fuller and other extended family members. Graveside services will be held at Franklin Memorial Park 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2016. His family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
