Thomas Dillon Ellis, age 79 of Midlothian, VA went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 3, 2013. He was born to and preceded in death by William Kyle and Pokie Dillon Ellis. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Doris E. Belton (Robert); and one brother-in-law, Russell Smith. Mr. Ellis is survived by his wife, Maureen Brown Ellis. They were parents of two daughters, Jackie Williams and Kyla Elliott (Christopher); three grandchildren, Jarrett Williams (Nicole), M. Chatman Elliott and Marjorie Dylane Elliott; one brother, Clifford Ellis (Ellen); and three sisters, Janie E. Smith, Dorothy E. Prillaman (Douglas) and Talitha E. Adams (Robert). A retired diesel mechanic, he was known for his God given talents of being able to design and build whatever he desired and his musical talent of being able to play most any musical instrument by ear, particularly, the guitar and banjo playing his favorite country and bluegrass music. Family and friends are welcome to pay final respects at the viewing on Monday, August 5, 2013 from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel Tuesday, August 5, 2013 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, 5970 Grassy Hill Road, Boones Mill, VA. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the doctors, nurses and staff that cared for him; and especially, Dr. Philip Morrissette, who cared for him for many years.
