Thomas "Tom" Reed Irvin, Jr.

Thomas Reed Irvin, Jr., 76, of Glade Hill, VA went home to the Lord on Thursday, December 9 ^th , 2021. He was born on May 19 ^th , 1945 to the late Thomas and Doris Irvin, Sr.

Left to cherish his life are: his treasured and loving wife of 42 years, Carolyn Irvin; his adored children, Anne Flora (Kurtis), Gary Tickle (Tami), Virginia Haberly, and Rebecca Swan (Phil); grandchildren, Deanna Flora, Emily Hicks (Stephen), Tyler Flora (Jessica), Victoria Tickle, and Sierra Haberly, whom he loved to spend quality time; brother, Terry Irvin (Donna); great grandchildren, Marleigh, Wyatt, Remington, Ellie and Teegan, who were the joy of his life; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tom devoted his life to his family and loved them wholeheartedly. He walked into our lives, chose us, and made us his own. He was known to always lend a helping hand to others and took great pride in taking care of his family and friends, brightening our world with his quick wit.

Tom spent 10 years driving a truck and then retired from Greyhound after 21 years because “he always wanted to see what was on the other side of the hill”. After retirement he enjoyed his travel adventures with his wife.

A celebration of life will be held at Franklin Memorial Park, 2:00 p.m., Monday December 13, 2021 with Rick Poland officiating.
