Tinie Peters Turner, 79, of Ferrum, died Wednesday December 12, 2007.
She was born April 23, 1928 to the late James M. and Bessie Smith Peters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Nora and Ora Peters, Bessie and Lessie Peters, Violet Dillon and Noreta Hodges; brothers, Melvin Peters and Herman Peters.
Mrs. Turner was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved children and had baby-sat since she was very young.
She is survived by her husband, John George Turner; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and John Smith; granddaughter, Rebecca Smith; three sisters, Linda Whorley, Betty Meade, and Lena Brown; two brothers, J.D. and Larry Peters; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel, 2 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Steve Tilley and Brother Mark Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Her family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
