Tom William Robertson

Tom William Robertson, age 84 of Rocky Mount has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, April 2, 2010. Tom was born July 7, 1925 a son of the late Jim Walter and Lillie Mae Robertson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Robertson, James Robertson and Walter Robertson; and sisters, Mary Robertson, Mazor Hodges, Dora Robertson, Ruth Dillinger, and Kate Hodges. He was a lifelong member of Doe Run Christian Church for 84 years where he served his Lord faithfully. He served as a Deacon and Elder, and taught Sunday School for 40 years. Tom also served his country honorably and is a veteran of the US Army and US Navy. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Annie Ethel Robertson; his brother, Edmond Robertson (Eva); his sister, Mildred Chitwood; brother-in-law, Alton Jones (Joyce); sisters-in-law, Dee Moore (Norman) and Mary Jane Jones; special niece, Lesley Turner (Monkey); and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. Dan Agee, Rev. Kirby Phillips, and Rev. Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Henry Fork Church of the Brethren Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service, exclusive local provider for “Veterans & Family Memorial Care”, Rocky Mount.
