Tommie Lee Smith

Tommie Lee Smith, age 85 of Glade Hill died Thursday, October 18, 2012. Tommie was born November 15, 1926 a son of the late Sam Tom and Ida Holland Smith. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William Ray Smith. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Paris Dillon Smith; children, Nancy (Barry) Hodges, Billy (Bonnie) Smith, Frankie (Karen) Smith, Rita (John) Thurman; grandchildren, Cassandra D. (Tony) Pagans, Tina (Steve) Manning, Jeanette (Mark) Mullins, Betty Jo Pickeral (Kirk), John Jr. (Misty) Thurman, Billy Joe Smith, Jr., Dena (Jon) Sawyer, Dean (Lindsey) Smith, Jason Thurman (Erin); 12 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Alma Smith Johnson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Perry (Joyce) Dillon, Virginia Lorrene Fralin, Roy (Magdoline) Dillon, Everette Dillon, Betty Ann (deceased), and a still born girl; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Saturday with Dr. Jackie Spence officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
