Tommy Dale Mullins

Thomas (Tommy) Dale Mullins, age 71 of Rocky Mount went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Tommy was born to Clifton and Alice Mullins in 1947. He retired from Appalachian Power Company after 25 years of service. Tommy married his first love, Bonnie Oakes and in 2018 celebrated 50 years together. He loved to play golf with his buddies, and enjoyed working with his hands in his woodworking shop with the company of his dog, Lucky Boy. Tommy and Bonnie loved to camp, where they have made such happy memories. He was known for his sense of humor, being a prankster and his laughter was contagious. Tommy is preceded in death by his father, Clifton Mullins; and brother-in-law, Rusty Coffman. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; mother, Alice Mullins; brother, Grover Mullins (Ruby); three sisters, Brenda Coffman, Sandra Mullins (Ray), Kathy Scott (Gary); brother-in-law, Sammie Oakes (Marilyn); sisters-in-law, Sylvia Kelley, Brenda Oakes, Judy Hosaflook. Tommy’s life was blessed with several nieces and nephews and the greatest joy was his “baby girl”, Grace. His family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Flora Funeral Service with a celebration of Tommy's life immediately following at 11 a.m. with Pastor Chris Bennett officiating. The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, and staff at Roanoke Memorial Hospital for their care and love shown to Tommy during his illness.
