“Tucker” Floyd Allen Buford Wright, 74 of Snow Creek left his earthly body on Friday, June 1, 2007.
He was born on July 31, 1932 to the late Lemon and Etheline Greer Wright. He was preceded in death by a precious granddaughter, Crystal Jean Wright; three brothers Walter, Percy and Willie Wright; one sister Minnie Stanley; three nephews Billy Wright, Jerry Clingenpeel and Floyd Clingenpeel; one niece Shelby Dillon.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Florence Reynolds Wright; one son William Allen Wright, Martinsville; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Euell Overstreet, Snow Creek. He is also survived by three grandchildren, David Allen Wright, Valerie Overstreet and Barry Whelan and Suzanne Overstreet; one great-grandchild, Crystal Wright; three sisters, Rena W. Oakes, Glade Hill, Bertha W. Clingenpeel, Boones Mill and Clarissa Clem, Roanoke; numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving is the extended family of the late Ben Hatchett; Venera Hatchett, Bobby, Kenneth and Tony Hatchett, all of Penhook. He was a friend to many. He is survived by a special friend Vernon Walker, Penhook.
Funeral services will be conducted from Boones Chapel Church of the Brethren at Snow Creek 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2007 with Rev. Michael Galimore, Rev. Jimmy Robinson and Rev. J. D. Harmon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Boones Chapel Church Building Fund, 2228 Circle Creek Road, Penhook, VA 24137.
The family will receive friends Sunday, June 3, 2007 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at Boones Chapel Church of the Brethren in Snow Creek. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
