Valeria Gail Childress

On Thursday, June 22, 2018 our dear beloved mother, sister, aunt, Valeria Gail Childress, departed this life surrounded by those who meant the most to her to be eternally with her mother. Valeria was the baby of seven children. Anyone that knew Val knew she was the true definition of “ride or die.” If you needed her she was there, no questions. She never passed up the opportunity to help anyone. Before she passed away she rededicated her life to Christ and became a member of Tabernacle of Praise, of Rocky Mount, VA. Valeria absolutely loved her children, Comeisha and Keystun. Her children meant the world to her. Although she biologically only had two living children, she treated everyone’s child as her own. Valeria is preceded in death by her loving mother, Nellie Childress and her infant son, Little Willie. Those left to cherish her memory are her father, Willie Childress, Rocky Mount, VA; children, Comeisha (Norman Grant) Childress, Keystun (Beth) Childress, all of Rocky Mount, VA; brother, Roy Wade, Los Angeles, CA; sister, Donna Wade (James Craghead), Letitia Childress (Kenneth David), Lisa Bennett all of Rocky Mount, VA, Sandra Childress of Bedford, VA, Debra Childress (Michael Turner) of Martinsville, VA. 14 special nieces and nephews; 18 great nieces and nephews; “God Grandchildren”, Adrianna and Jaylee Carroll, special friend, James Baker, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and her neighborhood family the “Tank Hill Gang.” Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11am at First Baptist Church, 45 Patterson Ave, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
