Vanice M. Austin

Vanice M. Austin, age 89 of Rocky Mount died Thursday, February 3, 2022. She was born May 21, 1932. Vanice was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leonard Austin, her brothers, Nelson Austin and Marion Austin. Surviving are her daughter, Gailya (Rodney “JayJay”) Keller; special grandson and playmate, Cal Keller; sister, Lena Mae (Kenneth) Bayer; sisters-in-law, Eunice Wilt, Adelle Scott, Virginia Austin and Lynda Austin; many nieces and nephews, over 30 great- nieces and nephews and over 50 great-great-nieces and nephews. Mrs. Austin was employed for many years at Virginia Apparel and also Legacy in Floyd. She never met a stranger and was always a friend. She requested no services.
