Venera Walker Hatchett, 90 of Penhook passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at her residence. She was born March 9, 1919 a daughter of the late Bob and Hattie Agnes Walker and the last survivor of the 12 children, William, Grace, Lizzie, Walter, Robert, Leonard, Taylor, Younger, Omar, Louise and Emmett. She was also preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Hatchett; a daughter-in-law, Linda Hatchett; foster son, Tucker Wright. Mrs. Hatchett was a member of Boones Chapel Church. Surviving are three sons, Kenneth (Marie) Hatchett, Bobby Hatchett and Tony (Kathy) Hatchett; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews and the extended family of Florence Wright. Funeral services will be conducted from Boones Chapel Church of the Brethren 11:00 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Mike Gallimore and Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 pm at Boones Chapel Church.
