Vernon Taylor "Budge" Walker

Vernon Taylor “Budge” Walker, age 84 of Penhook, passed away Friday May 20, 2022. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Lawrence Walker; daughters and sons-in law, Sandra Amos, Teresa and David Freeman, Audrey and Robert Arthur; son and daughter-in-law, James and Cindy Walker; grandchildren, Amanda Chance, Allison Fields, Taylor Amos, Rebekah McVeigh, Brittany Arthur, Olivia Arthur, Bethany Walker, Johnathan Walker; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sister, Reba McBride; brother and sisters-in-law, Wilbur and Genia Walker, Helen Walker; special friend, Mark Case. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his father and mother, Taylor and Julia Walker; brother, Bernard Walker; son-in-law, Donald “Buzz” Amos; brother-in-law, Charles McBride.   Funeral services will be conducted at Boones Chapel Church 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2022 with Pastor Mike Gallimore officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery. His family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2022 at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
