Vernon E. Jamison

Vernon E. Jamison, 89 of Boones Mill, Virginia passed away Monday morning August 13, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born September 28, 1928 in Roanoke Virginia near the Cave Spring Area. He was a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church and a faithful witness in his church and the community. He was a master gardener, and shared his produce with many. He will be remembered for his willingness to help those in need. Surviving are his six daughters, Doris & Ronnie Filbrun of Pendleton Indiana, Nancy Jamison of Boones Mill, Karen & Alvin King of Elida Ohio, Edna and Carlton Brubaker of Boones Mill, Elsie & Kent Garber of New Paris Ohio, Pauline & Melvin Ronk of Wirtz. 19 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 20 step great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are his brothers: Joel (Fannie) and Ellis (Rachel) Sisters: Annie Bowman, Fannie Brunk, and Bertha May (Marvin Brubaker). Preceding him in death were his loving wife Frances of 62 years, his infant twin sons, Lynn Samuel & Glen Henry; two grandsons, Seth Leon & Kent Eugene Brubaker; great-­grand-daughter, Molly Filbrun & great grandson, Elliot Jamison. His parents, Henry & Ida Jamison; his brothers, Emory (Elizabeth), Lloyd (Betty); sister Nannie (Charlie) Austin; his in-laws Clyde & Maggie Beckner; brothers- in-law, Levi Bowman, John Brunk, Paul (Hazel) Beckner, Lewis (Rachel) Beckner, Sister in-law Mary (Eldon Wolf, David Bayer). Funeral services will be conducted at Mountain View Old German Baptist Brethren Church (249 Dugwell Rd, Boones Mill) at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2018 by the Home Brethren. Burial will follow in church cemetery. His family will receive friends from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, 2:00 - 5:00 & 6:00 - 9:00 p.m Thursday at the church.
