Vicki Lynne Itson

Vicki Lynne Itson, age 51 of Rocky Mount died Saturday, January 23, 2021. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Adrian and Garnett Preston of Glade Hill; and nephew, Thomas Lee Dillon III. Survivors left to cherish her memory are her sons, Drew Bond, Sawyer Itson, Max Itson; mother, Angie Preston Vaughan; siblings, Carol Blevins, Sturlen Vaughan, Jr. (Allison), Tricia Spradlin (Rodney); nieces and nephews, Paul Miller, Kim Keaton (Brian), Brittni Queen (Vince), Sydney Doss (Gregory), Hallie Spradlin, Gehrig Spradlin. Vicki spread love and joy to everyone, from her three sons, to her extended family and all those she came in contact with.  Her goal was to put a smile on everyone's face. She just recently requested, not knowing her time was soon to come, that no one dress in black to her funeral. It would be a celebration. Vicki was a graduate of William Byrd High School. She owned a wedding planning business “Events by Simplicity” and she created the Roanoke Wedding Crawl. Vicki was also employed with Woodmen of the World Insurance. As an active member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church, she served in many capacities including the Youth Group which she dearly loved. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Rocky Mount Baptist Church, 85 West Church Street, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151 or to your favorite charity. Funeral services will be conducted from Rocky Mount Baptist Church 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. David Slayton officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Rocky Mount Baptist Church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
