Virginia Dare Bishop

Virginia Dare Bishop, 57 of Moneta passed away Monday, May 21, 2012. Virginia was born October 24, 1954 in Patch Fork West Virginia, a daughter of the late Curtis and Violet Greene Bishop. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger Bishop; sister, Debbie Bishop Paxton; brothers-in-law, Sherman Goines and Mike Minor. Surviving are six sisters, Alice Bishop, Denise Wardlow (Mike), Gail Minor all of Winston-Salem, NC, Sylvia Goines of Walkertown, NC, Thelma Williams (Gary) of Rural Hall, NC and Kathy Rocks (John) of Leeds, AL; three brothers, Carl Bishop ( Ellen) and Curtis Bishop both of Mocksville, NC and David Bishop (Patricia) of Rural Hall, NC; special friends and caregiver of 13 years, Jackie and Earnest Mitchell of Moneta, VA; many other family members and friends. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday at Flora Funeral Chapel with karaoke music from 12 – 2 p.m. and an eulogy being read at 2 p.m. by Pastor Matthew Ricks. Interment will follow in Brown-Fowler Family Cemetery. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount/ Smith Mountain Lake.
