Virginia Smith Hogan, 82, of Rocky Mount, VA, went to be with the Lord, on February 18, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. Virginia was born December 17, 1939, to the late Jesse Roy and Dessie Marie Smith. Virginia retired after working at MW Manufacturers, Bristol Manufacturing, Dairy Queen, Manager of Cato, also had her chauffeurs’ license so she could travel/help drive tractor-trailer trucks with her husband. She was a dedicated, faithful, and a loyal employee everywhere she worked. Virginia was a simple lady who loved her family; always willing to help, never too busy to stop and lend a hand to anyone in time of need. She was a member of Furnace Creek Baptist Church for many years.  One of her favorite things to do was watch her hummingbirds. She was content and happy in her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy, daughter, Brenda Kay, sister, Patsy Montgomery, and brothers Donnie Smith and Roy Wayne Smith.

Virginia is survived by her loving daughter and son, Bonnie Renick (Coy) and Timmy Hogan (Darnell Brown); grandchildren, Bradley Quinn (Amanda), Shannon Quinn (Leslie), and Seajay Meador (Brian), Dakota Hogan, PJ Brown, Valerie (Channing) Lynch, and Allison (David) Shively; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Becky Wade (Tommy); sister-in-law, Aleise Matherly; and many special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2022 with Pastor Ricky Hogan officiating.  Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.  Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Furnace Creek Baptist Church at 975 Scuffling Hill Road, Rocky Mount, VA  24151. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Carilion Hospice, Susan M. and Sabrina and all our family and friends for your compassion, love, prayers, and cards during her time of illness.
