Virginia Shively Hodges

Virginia Shively Hodges, 78 of Bassett passed away Friday, September 2, 2016. She was born July 3, 1938, a daughter of the late Mark and Lula Hatcher Shively. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Millard, Kermit and Garvice Shively; sisters, Geneva Hodges and Opal Thompson. Surviving are her devoted husband of 58 years, Leslie Hodges; three children Darnell Scott, Debra Turner (Ronnie) and Dwayne Hodges; two grandchildren Nikki and Lee Scott; sisters Mildred Scott, Mary Sauer, Estelle Thompson and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 6:00- 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 5, 2016 at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
