Virginia Perdue Smith

Virginia Perdue Smith, age 96 of Rocky Mount. VA, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Smith; son, Paul Smith; grandson, Scott Smith; special friend, Moran Dillon; and was the last remaining of eight siblings. Virginia is survived by her son, Rabon and daughter-in-law Emily Smith; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Smith; four grandchildren and their spouses, Kristi and Jack Norton, Penny and Jeff Smith, Lesley and Shannon Wray, and Kelli and Shawn Shively; along with nine great-grandchildren, Summer, Jackson, Dylan, Payton, Camden, Hannah, Kailee, Karlee, and Riley, all of whom she loved and was very proud of. She also had many special nieces and nephews along with many friends with whom she enjoyed spending time with at McDonald's. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County, 180 Floyd Avenue Suite 314, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will be private at a later date in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
