Vivian Virginia Hudson Perdue, age 98 of Glade Hill passed away Monday January 11, 2010. She was a life long member of Redwood United Methodist Church, a devout Christian who loved serving her Lord, her church and her family. Mrs. Perdue was born January 15, 1911 a daughter of the late John and Alice Simpson Hudson, also preceded in death by her brothers Reggie Hudson, Donald Hudson; sisters Vera Maxey, Charlotte Young, Mamie Dalton; her husband Walter J. Perdue and sons Darrell and Orval Perdue; granddaughter Pasty Gale Perdue; grandson William D. Perdue. Surviving are her sister Frances Brooks; her sons Chloris “Cisro” Perdue, Carroll Perdue, Wendell & Jo Anne Perdue, Garry & Becky Perdue; daughters-in-law Betty June Perdue, Allene Perdue; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Memorials may be made to the Redwood United Methodist Church 3001 Old Franklin Turnpike Rocky Mount. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Redwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Bradley S. Dulaney officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, and other times at the home of Wendell Perdue.
