Walter Buford Dillon

Walter Buford Dillon, born March 27, 1931 passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013. He was the eldest child of the late Walter Hardy Dillon and Josie Robertson Dillon, and was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Mary Lawless Brooks and father-in-law Thomas B. Brooks, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gloria Brooks Dillon; two sons Walter Thomas (Tommy) Dillon and Edward (Brent) Dillon; his daughters-in?law Paula Marlin and Casey Dillon. Buford is also survived by eight grandchildren, Brooke Dillon, TJ Dillon, Emmnaleigh Nicole, Christopher Dillon, Trevor Dillon, Delanie Dillon , Ryan McIntosh and Kourtney McIntosh; sister, Betty Jo Turner and her husband Jim; brother, Jerry Wayne Dillon and wife Judy; uncle, Ernest (Dick) Robertson; many other cousins, nieces, nephews along with many friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be held at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church 2 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery. Flowers are appreciated or one may make a gift to one?s favorite charity, Franklin County Public Safety or Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. His family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
