Walter Junior Hartman, age 77 of Rocky Mount was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 28, 2008.
Mr. Hartman was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, a member of Rocky Mount Church of God and retired from Bassett Superior Lines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Florence Hodges Hartman; brothers, Howard and J.B. Hartman; sister, Mary Lois (Cubie) Hartman; nephew, Travis Richards.
He is survived by his “special” daughter which was the pride and joy of his life, Tina Hartman; his children, Milton Hartman, Martha Lovell and husband Troy; his grandchildren, Jeremy Hartman, Jennifer Hartman, Brett Lovell and Courtney Lovell; brother, Glen Hartman, Sr.; sisters, Shelby Richards and Shirley Hartman; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hartman.
He is also survived by other family members including Keith Hartman, Glen Hartman, Jr., Benjamin Hartman, Penny Hartman, Wanda Hartman and Majid Qaiser; special friends including Wayne and Brenda Peters, Wayne and Patsy Deshazo, Jessie and Daphne Toliver.
Funeral services will be conducted from Rocky Mount Church of God 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2008 with Pastors Travis Gore and Sam Rakes officiating.
Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park with honors. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.
