Walter C. Hodges

Walter C. Hodges, age 77 of Rocky Mount, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, John William (Cova) and Nannie Pearl Hodges; three sisters, Irene McGuire, Gertude Prater and Peggy Hawks. Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Halcomb Hodges; his children, Teresa Gibson (Jackie), Heather Day (Warren); Jazzy, his precious dog; his grandsons, Bryan Gibson (Cara) and Kaleb Ferguson. Also surviving are his seven sisters, Edith Wray, Louise Lynch, Nannie Holland, Joyce Hudson, Elizabeth Holcomb (Blaine), Maxine Weeks (Wayne), Brenda Furrow (Wray), and many nieces and nephews who were all special to him. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Rocky Mount Christian Church. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and all other times at the home.
