Walter "Walt" Cunningham Hopkins

Walter “Walt” Cunningham Hopkins, age 81 of Goodview passed away Friday, July 31, 2026. He was born to the late John and Jacquelyn Hopkins in Bedford, VA on April 30, 1945.

Walt served in the U.S. Army while stationed in Germany and graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

He was preceded in death by brother, Ed Hopkins; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy (Ed) Lloyd and Betsy (Jerry) Stewardson.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Connie Hopkins; sons, John (Vicki) Hopkins and Mike (Selena) Hopkins; daughter, Priscilla (Mike) Locher; grandchildren, Diana Boyd, Abigail (Austin) Mills, Michaela Perdue, Wyatt Hopkins, Sawyer Hopkins, Samantha Hopkins and Cole Hopkins; great-granddaughter, Denverly Perdue; sister-in-law, Karen Hopkins; numerous nieces and nephews.

Walt was an avid fisherman, loving the outdoors and hunting. After retirement he owned and operated Hop A’ Long Lures with his special nephew, Jerry Stewardson. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
