Wanda T. Semones

Wanda T. Semones, 67, went on to be with our Lord on February, 3, 2022 at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount, VA. Wanda was born on October 4, 1954 in Martinsville, VA to Jackson and Bertha Turner. She is preceded in death by her loving parents.

Wanda graduated from Carver High School. She went on to become a Deputy Sheriff for the Henry County Sherriff’s department and served that community there for about 15 years. It was there that she first met her sweetheart, James Semones. Although, their paths did not cross again for several years, they married on September 11, 1993. They have been nearly inseparable since. Wanda also cared deeply about animals. She cared for many of her own “fur-babies” throughout the years.

Wanda is survived by her beloved husband, James Semones; daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Bryan Hodges; son, Thomas Semones (Kristen); grandsons, Gavin and Creed Hodges; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Neki Turner; nephew, Austin Turner; niece, Hailey Turner; and many other caring and loving family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Rocky Mount First Church of the Brethren on Saturday, February 12. Pastor Frances Beam will be leading the celebration. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 and service will begin at 12:00. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Rocky Mount First Church of the Brethren, to the Franklin County Animal Shelter, or to the American Cancer Society.
