Wayne Gearhart

Robert “Wayne” Gearhart, age 76 of Ferrum died Wednesday, November 28, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Rosa Gearhart; brothers, David and Russell Gearhart; and sister, Barbara Wright. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Margie Gearhart; son, Daniel Gearhart; brothers, Jimmy, Harold (Mary), Barry (Anne) Gearhart; sister, Betty Ferguson (Ronnie); brother-in-law, Steve Crook (Dot); many nieces, nephews and special friends. Wayne was a United States Vietnam Veteran. He served in both the Air Force and Marines and was proud of his service to his country. Wayne enjoyed the outdoors including fishing, gardening, birds and his farm animals but most importantly his family. He will surely be missed by many that knew him. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
