Wayne Everett Stanley, age 60, of Callaway, VA went home to be with his mom and dad on March 15, 2019, surrounded by his loving family after losing his battle to pancreatic cancer. He fought a hard battle but always managed to have a smile on his face. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Christine Stanley and his in-laws Alvin and Joyce Stanley. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 34 years Marie; sons, Anthony and Steven of the home and Steven's girlfriend Brittany of Burnt Chimney. He is also survived by his brother, Dale (Betsy) Stanley of Callaway, VA and his sister, Wanda (Roy) Swartz of Buena Vista, VA and sister-in-law, Kathy (Rob) Mason of Roanoke, VA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his special canine friends Daisy May and Precious. Wayne was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He loved his guns and hunting, but he loved his Virginia Cavaliers basketball and football team the most, he was a devoted fan. He also loved camping with his family and friends and sitting by the campfire. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2019 with Rev. Amy Pannell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Flora Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make your donations to the American Cancer Society to find a cure for pancreatic cancer and to Highland United Methodist Church in memory of Wayne. We want to thank our pastor, Amy Pannell who has been with us on this journey from the beginning to his last day on this earth.
