Wendell Lewis Mcguire

Wendell Lewis McGuire, age 79 of Moneta, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis H. McGuire; mother, Valera B. Bobbitt; step-father, Clyde Bobbitt; and sisters, Lois M. Bobbitt, Beatrice M. Laprade, and Phyllis M. Robertson. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Rose McGuire; son, Robert W. McGuire; daughter, Carolyn M. Hager (Theron); grandchildren, Sarah, Danielle, and Logan; great-grandson, Hayden; brothers, Glenn McGuire (Darlene) and Beverly Bobbitt (Teri); sister, June Cook (Roger); brother-in-law, Jim Laprade; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Epworth United Methodist Church, 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022 with Rev. Jeff White officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount/Smith Mountain Lake.
