Wilbert Bennett Holland

Wilbert Bennett Holland was born on November 19, 1940. He was one of six children born to the late Elijah Holland and late Roberta Ziegler. He made his peaceful farewell from his beautiful life on March 3, 2025. He was preceded in death by Barbara Jean Tanks, Dorothy Mackenhimer, Brenda Witcher, John Lewis, Gladys, and Wanetta. Wilbert was married to the late Barbara Jean Tanks. Together, they had five children: the late Brenda Witcher, Ardella (Jeff) Tanks, Benjamin (Kim) Holland, Melinda Holland, and Tiffany (Darrell) Brown. He later went on to have another son, Jason Holland, with the late Dorothy Mackenhimer. Wilbert leaves to cherish his memory, his brother, Otha; his sister, Annie Mae; his six children, nineteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a host of special friends. Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Friday, March 7, 2025 at Flora Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Truvine Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
