Wilda (Wink) Clement, age 83, of Rocky Mount, VA, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Anna Amick, husband, Charles Clement and son, Jim Clement. Wink is survived by sons, Charles Clement, Jr, and Michael Veston Clement and daughters Dianna Bullock and Sherry Jo Lynch, grandchildren Katherine Clement-Mounce, Ashley Frey, Jeremy Clement, Andrea Wilcox, Steven Bullock, Veston Clement, Jr., Emily Clement, Stacey Fessel, Corey Clement, Cameron Clement, Colton Whittaker, and Trent Whittaker and 14 great grandchildren. She loved her family unconditionally and reveled in knowing their life’s success and adventures. Granny was, in turn, truly loved by her children and all the “grands” and “great-grands” from NC, VA to NY. A native of West Virginia, Mom so loved the mountains that she rambled as her father’s tomboy daughter. Her sister, Joann, age 85 died just three days before her and both now reside in the loving arms of our Father in heaven. Mom was a faithful member of the Redwood Methodist Church since 1968 participating in the choir, Sunday school and supporting the church hospitality mission cooking and preparing meals for families suffering a lost one. As a Methodist minister’s wife, her personal ministry covered many church communities members and friends in WVA and VA. Visitation will be held at the Redwood United Methodist Church at 1:00PM, Wednesday, December 7, one hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at the Redwood United Methodist Church in Redwood, VA on December 7 at 2:00PM with Reverend Bradley Dulaney officiating. Interment will follow at the Redwood United Methodist Church cemetery, one mile west of the church on Route 40. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Redwood United Methodist Church, 3001 Old Franklin Turnpike, Rocky Mount, Va 24151.The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Skyline Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Floyd, VA for the staff and care givers love, patience and care to our mom during her fierce battle with dementia. Every day mom was determined to “GO HOME.” By golly, she made it! Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
