William F. “Bill” Walker, age 60 passed from this world to his eternal rest Friday, July 24, 2009.
He was a native of Gastonia NC. He was employed by Old Virginia Brick Co. for over 20 years and was a member of Burnt Chimney United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, William A. Walker.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Walker; two sons, Franklin Walker (Robin H.), Toby Walker; two granddaughters, Alicia Walker and Robin Walker; his mother, Mary H. Walker; one brother, Gary Walker (Kathy); and one sister, Joan Vandyke (Mitch).
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Burton White officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the college fund of Alicia and Robin Walker c/o BB&T Bank, Attn: Melissa Hayes, 45 Power Creek Road, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151.
His family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
