William "Bill" G. Jones, Jr.

William G. “Bill” Jones, Jr., age 62 of Rocky Mount died Thursday, December 30, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, William G. Jones, Sr. and Anne Stilwell Jones. Bill recently retired from the Franklin County Sheriffs Office after 29 years of service as a dispatcher. He was also a United States Navy Veteran. Surviving are his wife, Cathy Jones; son, Will Jones; granddaughter, Haley; and many other family members and friends. Memorial services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Coy Thomas officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Police Benevolent Foundation, 2155 Highway 42 S, McDonough, Georgia 30252 or Lights for Life, c/o Town of Rocky Mount, 345 Donald Avenue, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
