William Denis Harrington

William D. Harrington (Bill), 73 of Glade Hill passed away Friday, April 29, 2016. He was born January 5, 1943, a son of the late William Thomas and Anna Anthony Harrington. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joan Michalski. Bill was a graduate from Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, NY, retired from the American Red Cross, attended Resurrection Catholic Church, Moneta. He served in the United States Army followed by service in the Reserves as a Drill Sergeant. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Surviving are his loving wife, Joanne Harrington; daughters, Cheryl Garrecht (John), Catherine Amodio and Christine Harrington; grandchildren Aiden, Shane, Jaymie and Robert; step-son, Michael Covert. Funeral services will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church, 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 with Deacon Chris Barrett officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church. His family suggest memorial donations be made to American Red Cross, Roanoke Chapter. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount - Smith Mountain Lake.
