William Edward Meeks

William Edward Meeks, age 85 of Rocky Mount, VA received his heavenly reward on Saturday, June 24, 2017. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Laura Meeks; his parents, Lewis and Gladys Mills Meeks; sister, Viola Turner; brothers Junior Meeks and Albert Meeks. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Darnell and James Vipperman; stepson and wife, H.L. and Teresa Nolen; grandchildren, Tammy McCarthy (Paul) and Tonya Rockett (Rick); step-grandchildren, J.P. Nolen (Ashley) and Ashley Moore (Chris); 4 great-grandchildren, Jackson Rockett, Leon McCarthy, Lily Rockett, and Magnus McCarthy; 3 step-great-grandchildren, Drew Nolen, Liam Moore, and Jackson Moore; brother, Wilbern Meeks (Martha Sue) and Shelbern Meeks (Anne). Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2017 with Pastor Philip Bramblet officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Furnace Creek Baptist Church, 975 Scuffling Hill Rd., Rocky Mount, VA 24151 Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Monday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, VA, 24151.
