William H.C. Parker, 86, of Ferrum, VA, formerly of High Point, NC died Friday, May 4, 2018 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA. H. C. was born August 6, 1931 in Dobson, North Carolina to the late Howard and Thelma (Bledsoe) Parker. He attended Hasty School in Thomasville, NC and grew up in the High Point-Thomasville area. He worked with his parents in the construction business for many years as a master carpenter. H.C. was U.S. Army veteran who served in France during the Korean War. In 2000, after he retired, he and his wife, Helen moved to the mountains he loved in Virginia. He was a member of the Endicott Assembly of God Church, Endicott, VA. He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 66 years, Helen M. Parker of Ferrum; three daughters, Deborah (Mike) McGaha of High Point, NC,   Children’s Elementary Pastor Theresa (Raymond) Dickens of Peachtree City, GA; Sharon Edmondson of High Point; three sons, Jeffery L. Parker of Punta Gorda, FL, Michael (Julie) Parker of Ferrum and Mitchell E. Parker of Port Charlotte, FL; two sisters, Bobby (F.H.) Lankford of Gainesville, Ga and Bonnie (Gerald) Davis of High Point, NC; a brother, Frank (Aline) Parker of Thomasville, NC; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services with military honors by a U.S. Army Honor Guard will be held Saturday 11:00 AM, May 12, 2018 at Flora Funeral Service Chapel, 665 Main Street, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
