William Edward Robertson

William Edward Robertson, 82, of Penhook passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, June 11, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Robertson, his parents Lewis and Cora H. Robertson, brother John Henry Robertson, sisters, Catherine R. Martin and Lucy R. Walker, son-in-law Lonnie Holley, and great-grandson Mason Holley. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Holley (Jeff), son Danny Robertson (Rhonda), grandchildren, Brian Belcher (Barbara), Tabitha Robertson (Justin), Daniel Holley (Krista), Chad Robertson, great-grandchildren, Gavin Peters, Skye Carter, Preston Belcher, Grady Holley, Talan Carter, Cora Holley, sister, Shirley Robertson of Collinsville, Va. brother, Roger Robertson (Mollie) of Rocky Mount, Va. sister-in-laws, Levita Reynolds and Patsy Tankersley, brother-in-law, Glen Philpott, numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved pet of 11 years, Junior. He was retired from The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Danville. He was an active member of Forrest Hill Christian Church. He loved his church and his church family. He enjoyed bluegrass and gospel music. He sang bass in his church quartets and choir for many years. He loved his many trips to Dollywood. We often joked about his love for Dolly. He liked watching Nascar races, baseball and basketball games. We would like to thank all the physicians, nurses, Rescue Squad members, hospice and all the friends and family who visited him at home and the hospital. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 13 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Forrest Hill Christian Church. The service will be Tuesday, June 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Ted Clifton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
