Listen to Obituary

Willie Greene Feazelle, "W.G." of Rocky Mount passed away peacefully on June 27, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Sink Feazelle and father David Williamson Feazelle;  brothers, Daniel Feazelle, Donald Feazelle; sisters Juanita Brockman, Jackie Boitnott, Emily Woody. Also preceding him was his wife Sandra Feazelle and her father Hugh "Henry" Brewton, whom he lovingly was the caretaker for several years. W.G. will be remembered most for his kindness, his quick and clever wit, his storytelling and his patience.  He made friends easily and always was fully present when talking to anyone.  This made him especially endearing to children, as he treated them as equals. He spent 38 years working at APCO/ AEP and garnered respect from his coworkers for his down to earth manner, and his sense of humor. He was a Mason and his humility will forever be his cornerstone attribute. Throughout his 76 years in this life he experienced many things that led to his tales.  He left home at 14 to work on a dairy farm and lived with the special family of Charles Beckner.  He signed up for the Marines when he was 17 and spent 4 years seeing the world and meeting his new "brothers" in arms. He had a motorcycle accident that broke his back and his neck and had numerous surgeries and injuries that gave him battle scars and also provided him downtime to heal and learn new hobbies. One hobby was making Christmas trees out of beads and pins.  He painstakingly made these special little trees and gave them to anyone who needed a little light in their life.  Over the last three years, his health took a turn and he spent many days in the hospital.  His persistence and diligence to recover and keep his positive attitude astounded everyone who knew him. W.G. is survived by his wife Arlene Feazelle and Arlene's family that he loved as his own. Charlene Houston (Richard), Cheryl Tosh (Tommy), Wesley Hall; and beautiful grandchildren, Cora and Leah Houston, Kaitlynn Hall and Taylor Tosh; daughter, Jennifer Feazelle and her mother, his first wife, Shirley Feazelle;  his siblings, Cookie Berrier, Mac Feazelle, Janet Layman.  His special friends Bill Wilhite, Dan Lynch, Larry Conner and brothers from the Marines, Dave Rose and Ted O'Brien and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be missed and remembered by all who knew him for his warrior spirit. Memorial services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018 with Dr. Jackie Spence officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Mountain View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Saint Francis Service Dogs.
