Wilma Jeanne Underwood

Wilma Jeanne Underwood, 91 years old, widow of Rev. James L. Underwood, II, passed away on July 18, 2016. She was a teacher, a pastor’s wife, a mother of eight, and an inspiration to all that knew her. Wilma Jeanne left the world better than she found it. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. She is preceded in death by sons, James L. Underwood, III, Christopher D. Underwood (Vicki); and daughter, Tiahna R. Chambers (Jeff). She is survived by her children, Rebecca J. Smythwood, Daniel L. Underwood (Melody), Stephanie M. Freiburg (Tom), Gina Boston (Steve), and Timothy Todd Underwood (Tammy). She has seventeen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Friday at Flora Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
